Black Friday 2026: When to Order Wholesale Stock From Turkey
Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, so festive plus-size stock should be on your shelf by about 20 November. Your latest order date is that shelf date minus your forwarder's transit estimate, your customs buffer and the order preparation time agreed with our sales team.

To have plus-size stock in your shop for Black Friday on Friday 27 November 2026, aim to have it on the shelf by around Friday 20 November, with enough depth to keep trading through the December festive season. Your latest order date is that shelf date minus your forwarder's door-to-door transit estimate, your clearing agent's customs buffer and the confirmation and preparation time agreed with our sales team. Collect those numbers this week, not in November.

When is Black Friday 2026, and why does it matter for boutiques?
Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November, and in markets where it has caught on, such as South Africa, it opens a year-end peak that runs through December rather than lasting a single day. The name refers to the Friday after US Thanksgiving, which US law fixes as the fourth Thursday in November; OPM's 2026 federal holiday list puts Thanksgiving on Thursday 26 November, so Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving, falls on 30 November.
In South Africa, Black Friday first appeared online in 2012 and has slowly pulled spending forward from December. Stats SA's analysis of retail trade shows November's share of combined November and December trade rising from 42.5% in 2011 to 45.9% in 2025, yet December remains particularly busy for textiles and clothing. For a clothing boutique, Black Friday starts the peak; it does not replace December.
Year-end dates in your market
- South Africa: Day of Reconciliation on 16 December, Christmas Day on 25 December, Day of Goodwill on 26 December.
- Kenya: Jamhuri Day on 12 December, Christmas Day on 25 December, Boxing Day on 26 December.
- Ghana: December in GH, the Ghana Tourism Authority's festive calendar of music, heritage and diaspora events, runs from 1 December 2026 to 3 January 2027.
- UAE: National Day holiday on 2 and 3 December, according to the UAE government portal.
- Dubai: Visit Dubai lists the Dubai Shopping Festival from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027.
- Qatar: National Day on 18 December.
- Christmas: Friday 25 December 2026; in Serbia, Orthodox Christmas on 7 January carries the season into the new year.
When should I order from Turkey for Black Friday?
Order early enough for the goods to reach your shelf by around Friday 20 November 2026, one week before Black Friday; if you are reading this in late October, start this week. A shelf date is not an arrival date, and the gap between the two is worth planning:
- Stock needs preparing. Unpacking, counting, steaming, photographing and posting new arrivals all happen before the first customer buys.
- Previews need time. If you sell on Instagram, WhatsApp or a website, a week of previews lets regular customers reserve pieces before 27 November.
- The same order carries December. An earlier Stats SA analysis found December comfortably outperforms November for textiles and clothing, so Black Friday stock must also cover the weeks after it.
- Ask which modes still fit. Your forwarder can say whether sea freight, air cargo or express courier still reaches you before 20 November; we do not quote transit times.
How do I work out my own latest order date?
Count backwards from your selling date through shelf time, customs clearance, transit and order preparation; the date you reach is the last day your order list can go to our sales team. Fill in the blanks with your own figures:
- Selling date: Friday 27 November 2026, or your own December peak, such as 2 December in the UAE.
- Minus shelf time: … days to unpack, photograph and post (we suggest at least seven for Black Friday). Shelf date: …
- Minus clearance and delivery: … days, from your clearing agent, including document checks. Goods must land by: …
- Minus transit: … days, your forwarder's written estimate from Istanbul. Goods must leave Istanbul by: …
- Minus confirmation and preparation: … days for our team to confirm the order, issue the proforma invoice, receive payment and prepare the shipment, as agreed with your salesperson. Latest order date: …
- Holiday check: move the date earlier if it falls on Türkiye's Republic Day holiday (28 October from 13:00, and 29 October), a weekend, a public holiday at home or after your bank's transfer cut-off.
If you import into southern Africa, our guide for South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe explains the registrations and documents your clearing agent will ask for.
Practical tip: if the date you reach has passed, ask your forwarder about a faster mode, aim the order at December instead, or split it into a small Black Friday shipment and a larger December one, each reaching the $400 minimum.
What should I stock for a summer festive season, and what for a winter one?
Stock for your own hemisphere: in South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and other southern markets December is summer, so light co-ord sets, short-sleeve blouses and dresses lead, while in Europe, the Maghreb and the Levant it is winter, so coats, jackets, long sleeves and layering basics carry the season.
Summer festive season: South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe
- Co-ord sets: a complete outfit in one purchase, including linen-look sets for hot days.
- Blouses with short sleeves or sleeveless cuts, in viscose for daytime and satin for evenings.
- Dresses for year-end functions and family gatherings, from viscose day dresses to satin occasion pieces.
- Bodysuits with short sleeves, a neat base under an open shirt or with a skirt.
Co-ord sets are the safest place to build depth for warm markets; our co-ord sets guide explains why they rotate so quickly.
Winter festive season: Europe, the Maghreb, the Levant
- Outerwear: coats and trench coats, the statement buy of the season.
- Jackets to layer over dresses and co-ord sets.
- Long-sleeve bodysuits and blouses as layering basics under jackets and coats.
- Satin maxi dresses with sleeves for year-end events and family visits.
Our AW 2026/27 buying guide covers winter categories and size depth in more detail.
In the Gulf, Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya, plan around occasions as much as temperature: National Day celebrations, December in GH events, church services and family gatherings call for dressier pieces; our occasionwear guide shows how to build them into an order.
How deep should I buy for a peak week?
Buy depth rather than breadth: fewer styles, in more pieces, in the sizes your customers actually buy, sized from your own records rather than a rule of thumb.
- Find your peak ratio. Divide units sold in last year's Black Friday week by units sold in an ordinary November week, and apply that ratio to each style's current weekly rate.
- No history yet? Put depth into styles that already sell for you, and take new styles as one full size set each to learn their size curve without a big bet.
- Add depth where you actually sell. Our range runs from 34 to 60; start from the full size set and add single pieces on top of it where your customers concentrate, because an empty size on a peak weekend is a lost customer.
- Full size sets or single pieces. Use full size sets to introduce a style and single pieces to deepen the sizes that sell; different models and colours can be combined in one order.
- Keep a top-up reserve. Hold back part of the budget for reordering first-week winners, if your route allows a second delivery before Christmas.
How do I avoid running out in mid-December?
Set your top-up date before Black Friday, not after: run the same count-back from your last big trading weekend before Christmas to find your December order deadline, and send the top-up list as soon as the first week's figures show your winners.
- Your December target: with Christmas Day on Friday 25 December 2026, the weekend of 19 and 20 December is the last full one before it.
- Count after Cyber Monday. On Tuesday 1 December, count units sold per style and size since your previews began, and send the reorder list that day.
- Use a reorder point. Multiply each style's weekly rate by your total lead time in weeks plus a safety margin; our buying calendar guide works through the arithmetic.
- Name substitutes. For each best-seller, note two similar models; live stock is visible to members, so you can check availability before messaging us.
- Make it one shipment. Combine top-ups into one order that reaches the $400 minimum rather than several small ones.

What happens after the peak, in January?
January is for recording what sold, reordering the winners and placing your next seasonal order, which for many boutiques means southern autumn stock or Ramadan and Eid 2027.
- Record before you forget. Units sold per style and size from Black Friday to New Year are the most useful buying data of your year.
- Southern markets: autumn and winter stock for March to August is usually ordered around the turn of the year.
- Northern markets: January and February are still winter, so reorder sold-out coats and jackets only if they can arrive while the cold lasts.
- Ramadan 2027: expected to begin around Monday 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting, according to projections by the UAE's Astronomy Centre reported by The National.
Our Ramadan and Eid 2027 buying calendar applies the same count-back method to that order.
Black Friday's date is fixed; your latest order date depends on numbers only your forwarder, your clearing agent and our sales team can give you. Collect them this week, then register free and browse the catalogue: more than 600 styles in sizes 34 to 60, with wholesale prices and live stock visible as soon as you are a member.
Frequently asked questions
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November, the day after US Thanksgiving on Thursday 26 November. Cyber Monday follows on Monday 30 November. US law sets Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday in November, which is why the date changes every year.
When should I order stock from Turkey for Black Friday 2026?
Order early enough for the stock to be on your shelf by around Friday 20 November 2026, one week before Black Friday. Count back from that shelf date through your clearing agent's buffer, your forwarder's transit estimate and the confirmation and preparation time agreed with your supplier. The date you reach is your latest order date, and ordering a few days before it leaves room for delays.
How do I calculate my latest order date for festive stock?
Start with your selling date, such as 27 November for Black Friday, and subtract the shelf time you need, your customs clearance buffer, your forwarder's door-to-door transit estimate and your supplier's confirmation and preparation time. The result is the last day your order list can go in. Move it earlier if it falls on a weekend, a public holiday in Türkiye or in your country, or after your bank's transfer cut-off.
How long does shipping from Istanbul take for Black Friday stock?
We do not quote transit times, because they depend on your route, carrier, shipping mode and the time of year. Ask your forwarder or cargo company for a written door-to-door estimate from Istanbul and your clearing agent for a customs buffer. Shipping terms are agreed with each order.
Is Black Friday important for clothing boutiques in South Africa?
Yes, as the start of the year-end peak rather than the whole of it. Across all retail, Stats SA's analysis shows November's share of combined November and December trade rising from 42.5% in 2011 to 45.9% in 2025, but December is still particularly busy for textiles and clothing. Stock that lands for 27 November also needs to carry December.
Which year-end dates matter for boutiques in the Gulf?
In the UAE, the National Day holiday falls on 2 and 3 December, and Visit Dubai lists the Dubai Shopping Festival from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027. Qatar National Day is on 18 December. Count back from the first date that matters to your customers, not from Black Friday.
What should a plus-size boutique stock for the festive season?
It depends on your hemisphere. In South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe December is summer, so light co-ord sets, short-sleeve blouses and dresses lead; in Europe, the Maghreb and the Levant it is winter, so coats, jackets, long sleeves and layering basics carry the season. Wherever you are, add a few dressier pieces for year-end functions and family gatherings.
What is the minimum order for festive stock from Disentis Modest?
The minimum for catalogue orders is $400 (or €400) per shipment. Different models and colours can be combined to reach it, and you can order full size sets or single pieces. A December top-up is a separate shipment, so it needs to reach the minimum on its own.
What can I do if my latest order date for Black Friday has already passed?
Ask your forwarder whether a faster mode still reaches you before 20 November; if not, aim the order at your December peak instead. You can also split it into a small shipment for Black Friday and a larger one for December, provided each reaches the $400 minimum. Either way, send your list as soon as you can, because every day of delay comes out of your selling time.
